Kick Off Summer in Vancouver
We had “Lunch time seminar in English” at the World Plaza on June 5. Hana-san, CIR of Saga Prefecture Government International Affairs Division, explained to us about “Kicking Off Summer in Vancouver Style.”

EAT! Vancouver encompasses unique food experiences, opportunities to learn behind-the-scenes culinary magic from professional chefs, dynamic entertainment through celebrity chef cooking demonstrations and culinary competitions, diverse food, beverage and cooking related exhibits; and of course fantastic shopping opportunities.

Here you will find the owners, chefs and servers of some of Vancouver's favorite restaurants serving up a dizzying array of cuisine, both local and international.

Visit numerous restaurants in one afternoon or evening, taste their menu selections for only $4.00 or less per appetizer size portion, study their entire menu, talk to the chef and ask questions from the experts.

The farmers are back in town for the Granville Island Farmers Market, starting June 7 and running every Thursday all the way into October. Come get a taste of some of the best produce BC has to offer: all local, all fresh, and so much to choose from!

Tomatoes, potatoes, apples, cherries and so on and so forth, it’s best to stop by Triangle Square and find out for yourself what this annual outdoor market has to offer.

Bard on the Beach is Western Canada's largest professional Shakespeare festival, which is held every year in open-ended tents on the waterfront in Vanier Park in Kitsilano, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival’s 23rd season runs May 31 to September 22, 2012

Come celebrate 'all that is Italian' from Venables to the Grandview cut on Commercial Drive, Vancouver's original 'Little Italy'.

Join over 50,000 attendees on June 10th 2012 from noon until 8pm as 'La Dolce Vita' hits the street in style to include food, entertainment, fashion, specialty products, activities and much more.

Vancouver Island is a large island in British Columbia, Canada. While the city of Vancouver is located on the North American mainland, Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, is located on the island.

BC Ferries provides all major passenger and vehicle ferry services for coastal and island communities in the Canadian province of British Columbia.

Tsawwassen is a suburban, mostly residential community located on a peninsula in the southwestern corner of the Corporation of Delta, British Columbia, Canada. It is also the location of BC Ferries' Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal, built in 1959 to provide foot-passenger and motor vehicle access from the Lower Mainland to the southern part of Vancouver Island and the Southern Gulf Islands.

Swartz Bay, located on the north end of the Saanich Peninsula on Vancouver Island, is primarily known for being the location of one of BC Ferries' main terminals, the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal.

Victoria is the capital city of British Columbia, Canada and is located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island off Canada's Pacific coast.

The city has a population of about 80,017 within the metropolitan area of Greater Victoria, which has a population of 344,615, the 15th most populous Canadian metro region. Sometimes Victoria is called "a bit of Old England" because of its winding, narrow streets and beautiful gardens.

The Fairmont Empress Hotel majestically sits at the cornerstone of Victoria's sparkling Inner Harbor.

A time honored tradition for over a century, the world renowned tea lobby of The Fairmont Empress has served England’s most beloved ritual and Victoria's grandest tradition of Afternoon Tea to famed royalty, celebrities and dignitaries alike.

The Butchart Gardens is a group of floral display gardens in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia, Canada, located near Victoria on Vancouver Island. The gardens receive more than a million visitors each year. The gardens have been designated a National Historic Site of Canada due to their international renown.

In 1904 Robert Butchart began producing cement from limestone near "Benvenuto" their home at the Tod Inlet, Brentwood Bay near Victoria BC. This is the setting for the spectacular Sunken Garden.

Whale Watching: Vancouver & Vancouver Island, BC

Vancouver Whale Watch provides passengers with the adventure of a lifetime through excellent customer service, first class vessels, the highest possible safety standards and added value from an on-the-water education of the west coast eco-system.

Fisherman's Wharf Park is located in a residential neighborhood on the far west side of the downtown area. It is close to several hotels, and is accessible from the Waterfront Walk as well as standard city sidewalks.

Fisherman's Wharf has moorings available for recreational & fishing boats, live aboard vessels and floating homes. Was surprised to see so many "floating homes" all architecturally different from one another.
